Finding the right support for you can be overwhelming. What kind of therapist do I need? What kind of therapy will help? What can I afford, and will my benefits cover it? These huge, poignant questions are all valid and real. In order to help break down some of these frequent road blocks, this page is dedicated to the services that I can, and more importantly, cannot provide to the BC public.
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical, the majority of major extended benefits providers will cover the clinical counselling sessions I facilitate. Check with your provider beforehand to see how many sessions, or what budget you have as this may help you plan out what kind of timeline you are looking at.
I am not a psychologist or a psychiatrist. This means I cannot provide you with a formal diagnosis or prescribe you psychotropic medications to help you attain funding, housing or stabilize a biological issue pertaining to your mental health. I can, however, refer you to a reputable registered psychologist/psychiatrist if you need to see one.
I can do the deep work with you. The exploration of past, present and goals for the future to help you accept what has come to be in order increase your ability to tolerate the distress and the pain you have been experiencing. The areas and issues I work most with include, but are not limited to:
Trauma & PTSD
Grief & Loss
Gender Identity (Transgender Affirming)
Sexual Identity (LGBTQ2S+ Affirming)
